Introduction in Technology in Nepal:

In the last blog, I have covered what kind of Technology is used in Afghanistan. If you haven't checked it out then click here. Now let's have a look at what kind of Technology Nepal (our neighborly country) is using.

Telecom Industry and Broadband plans in Nepal

<img src="Mobile Data Plans In Nepal.jpg" alt="Expensive Mobile plans">

In Nepal, there are only 3 major network operators- Nepali Telecom, Ncell, Smart Telecom. Talking about data plans here the pricing is "For 805 Nepali Rupees we get 1GB data/per day for 28 days." This is very expensive as compared to India. But the main problem comes here that these Telecom networks don't provide any unlimited plans like our Indian Telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, Vi, etc. When we talk about Broadband speed here the average internet speed is 20 Mbps. In India, it is 35 Mbps and the highest average internet speed is 80 Mbps which is in Taiwan.

2 Major Stories related to Technology in Nepal

1.Mahabir Pun(Nepaliमहावीर पुन)

<img src="Mahabir Pun.jpg" alt="Great Technology implementation in Nepal">>
Mahabir Pun is a Nepali teacher and social entrepreneur and a very well known guy for Nepalis. What he did is that he visited the hilly areas of the Himalayas and installed solar panels which eventually resulted in the supply of internet. He was also awarded in Hall Of Fame award which is a very great achievement for anyone. We all know that Nepal is a very small country with a low budget and implementing solar panels is very costly.

2.Malin Karki

Malin Karki at the age of 18 was reading a book by "Stephen Hawkins" and he read that we can produce static electricity by rubbing any object with our hair. Remember the old school days when we use to rub our scale with our hair and on the floor, we put some paper pieces and that use to get attracted. The same concept he used to replace silicon in solar panels/cells with human hair. The science behind this is that there is a pigment in our hair called melanin which becomes a good conductor of electricity and can replace silicon in solar cells/panels. He created a solar panel of 8/12 Watt and generated electricity at a very less rate. As we know human hair is way cheaper than silicon. But many experts are doubtful about this invention.

Social media usage and night data concept in Nepal

Here people mostly use Facebook(95%) then comes Instagram and Twitter and others. Even Whatsapp/Telegram is also used here but it is less as compared to India. Talking about the "Night Data" concept it is very popular in today's time (earlier it was used to be popular in India). In Nepal, from 11 p.m. to 5 p.m they can use more internet. There is one telecom like Ncell which is offering 3GB data at night or 3GB at day time and 4GB data at night time for around 500 Nepali Rupees and 600 Nepali Rupees for 30 days.

Banking Sector and which mobile phones are more popular in Nepal

In Nepal, the circulation of mobile payment is done perfectly with Qr code scanning payment, E-Banking but not at a large scale like India. Talking about mobile phones here Oppo, Realme, mi, Vivo, etc. are used extensively.
